Laureate of the EUROSTARS CROMAGNON project in 2013, the EVITECH company, the French expert in video analytics for global security, has won, after this project, several contracts that will consist of several years of turnover, from the sales of the innovative software developed in this project.
The EUROSTARS Programme is an European funding facility for innovation, managed in France by the public bank BPI-France. It supports international initiatives of SMEs for cooperating for developing and proposing innovative products on the market, within the two years after the end of the project.
The EUROSTARS CROMAGNON project was launched in 2013, for a duration of 2 years, with the help of BPI-France. BPI-France funded the advisor HLP Development for building the proposal. The CROMAGNON project has gathered EVITECH (Fr), Tele Connect (NL), and ADTEL (Sp) around the topic of managing crowds in public space (for cities, transports, culture, sports, shops). For EVITECH’s part, the works, funded up to 40%, were integrated in its LYNXcrowd analytics software product. Techniques used in the project and in the software had been studied previously during the CROWDCHECKER project (a RAPID DGA project) in 2012, in cooperation with ENS rue d’Ulm (Willow team, directed by Jean Ponce). The CROMAGNON project was also the opportunity to deploy several LYNX demonstrators, in particular a facility of several months in Utrecht (NL), and demonstrations in Spain.
At the end of the project, EVITECH was solicited by several customers, to have LYNX to be assessed, and to follow performance extensive testing. Some of these tests have last several months. LYNX performance, due to the innovative and original techniques imagined for its design, allowed EVITECH to win several sales opportunities, in order to equip a total of several thousands of CCTV cameras, in particular to manage crowds in large public areas.
These opportunities totalize several years of turnover for EVITECH. The company has hired several engineers, mainly highly qualified computing scientist engineers, all located in France.
As announced, “Eurostars supports the development of rapidly marketable innovative products, processes and services that help improve the daily lives of people around the world.”
